Fire at Dilworth apartment complex displaces 15 people
Fifteen people were displaced by a fire at a Dilworth apartment complex early Tuesday.

Medic paramedics evaluated three of the residents, but no major injuries were reported.
The fire started about 1 a.m. in the complex in the 2100 block of Kirkwood Avenue, about a block from Park Road.
The first firefighters at the scene reported flames shooting from the roof of an apartment, said Capt. Dennis Gist of the Charlotte Fire Department.

At least 50 firefighters controlled the blaze in about 50 minutes, Gist said.

Firefighters continued to investigate the cause later Tuesday morning. The American Red Cross assisted the displaced residents.
