A Gaston County teenager missing for five days might appear confused or disoriented due to vision issues, since he doesn’t have his eyeglasses with him, police said.

Ryan Thomas Burgess, 17, left his group home on Hunter’s Pointe Drive in Dallas, N.C., sometime early Friday. He was reportedly carrying a small dark suitcase, the type with two wheels and an extendable handle, police said.

Ryan is white, 5-feet-10-inches tall and about 140 pounds. He has blue eyes and sandy blonde hair.

Ryan was last known to be wearing a gray shirt, gray jogging pants, white tennis shoes and possibly a black leather jacket.

He has no known family in the area.

Woods near the home have been searched, police said, and the investigation has revealed no signs of foul play.

Anyone who sees Ryan or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the Gaston County Police at (704) 866-3320 or Crimestoppers at (704) 861-8000.
