Water line break leads to inmate relocation in Caldwell County
A water main break at the Caldwell County Detention Center in Lenoir has lead to a relocation of inmates.
Inmates are being moved to facilities nearby, according to a report from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
The water has been shut off at the facility until repairs can be made. That is expected to take a few days, according to the report.
An estimate of how many inmates are being moved was not immediately available. The facility holds 185 people. An official said the facility was not at capacity before the relocation.
