Showers, high winds headed to Charlotte region

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through the Charlotte region beginning Sunday afternoon, bringing up to a quarter inch of rain along with wind gusts as high as 20 mph.

The chance for precipitation is 80 percent, mainly after 2 p.m. and continuing into the night, according to the National Weather Service. The high is expected to be near 84 degrees and the low around 69. The humidity level remains around 69 percent.

Monday should be partly sunny with only a 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms. Less than one-tenth of an inch is expected, with the high reaching about 86.
