Police said Short lost control of the 2016 Cam Am Spyder RS motorcycle after it hit a vehicle in the rear shortly before 2:30 a.m.
The motorcycle began to skid, and Short and Gagnon were ejected. Short had a helmet on, while Gagnon was not wearing a helmet, police said. The motorcycle continued traveling and struck a concrete barrier several times before stopping.
The unknown vehicle Short hit drove from the scene, police said.
