Charlotte forecast to hit the mid-90s this weekend
Enjoy the cool mornings this week, because it’s about to get a lot hotter.
Charlotte stood at a cool 61 degrees shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday. A high of only 82 is expected, 3 degrees below the normal high.
But temperatures are expected to climb, with Sunday forecast to be the hottest of all with a high of 95.
Friday should reach a high of 88 and Saturday 93.
Increased cloud cover through early next week should provide only a 2- to 3-degree relief in highs through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.
Monday could see a high of 91, Tuesday 92 and Wednesday 93.
Skies should remain mostly sunny this weekend and through at least midweek.
No chance of rain is forecast until Wednesday, although the chance of showers and thunderstorms that day is still slight at 30 percent.
