Body of missing kayaker found in Lake Wylie
The kayaker who died at Lake Wylie Friday after an outing with friends has been identified.
The York County Coroner identified the man as Frederick Robinson, 45, of Rock Hill, S.C.
A spokesperson with the Department of Natural Resources said Robinson was kayaking near Joslin Pointe Lane in Rock Hill, S.C.
The group Robinson was at the lake with headed for shore, but he went back out on the lake. His kayak flipped and he did not resurface. Officials said he was not wearing a life jacket.
The Lake Wylie Dive Team and Lake Patrol assisted the Department of Natural Resources with the search. Details about the recovery were not immediately available.
