Salisbury teen killed when SUV flipped on Goodman Lake Road

An 18-year-old from Salisbury died and a 15-year-old was injured Saturday when an SUV flipped on Goodman Lake Road.

Charles Hunter Schenk’s SUV ran off he road and flipped around 7 p.m.

Investigators say Schenk was driving south on Goodman Lake Road when his vehicle hit a curb, ran off the road, overcorrected to the left, flipped and rolled before coming to a stop, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

Troopers on scene say another teen was in the car and was taken to Rowan Regional Hospital. The 15-year-old's condition has not been released.

According to highway patrol, speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the wreck.
