Charlotte traffic: Debris creating misery on I-77 northbound
Traffic backed up on Interstate 77 northbound leading to the Remount Road exit Thursday morning, after metal debris on the interstate damaged at least a dozen cars.
The debris caused flat tires or worse, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.
“My oil pan has a hole, my car will not move,” one driver told the station. “It’s a lot of damaged cars.”
WBTV also said one driver reported encountering a metal gear shaft.
The cars moved to the side of the Remount Road ramp and caused “onlooker delays” on the interstate for several hours.
Meanwhile, on Interstate 85 southbound, a wreck at about 7:30 a.m. blocked the left and left-center lanes near the W.T. Harris Boulevard exit.
