GPS tools now available for city transit through new CATS mobile app
City bus and train riders can now get real-time information on scheduling through a new mobile app just released by Charlotte Area Transit System.
The Ride CATS mobile app uses the GPS technology located aboard buses and trains.
CATS customers also can use the app to set up alerts, find out about nearby route stops or save information about stops they visit frequently.
The app also provides access to Google Trip Planner, which uses a current location and a destination to automatically route a trip.
“We are excited to provide our customers with greater system reliability through the launch of our new Ride CATS app,” said CATS CEO John Lewis. “New and experienced riders can now have up-to-the-minute transit information in the palm of their hand.”
