So much for that Southern hospitality.

Charlotte was ranked the 14th rudest city in the country in Travel + Leisure’s annual list of America’s 15 Rudest Cities.

“Maybe travelers just ran into a bunch of stressed out Charlotte residents at the airport,” the magazine says in its explanation.

“Charlotte Douglas International Airport is an airport you definitely want to avoid in the summer, and nothing makes people ruder than a flight delay.”

Nine of the 15 cities on the list, which was compiled through a survey, scored high for passionate sports fans, although Charlotteans’ love for sports – and beer – is noted as a positive.

“If you want to play nice with the locals, however, cheer on the Panthers at D9 Brewing Co.’s taproom,” according to the magazine’s article.

New York City, last year’s rudest city in America, moved to No. 3. Phoenix was ranked No. 2 while Miami – the only other Southern city on the list – claimed the top spot.
