American Red Cross opens relief center in north Charlotte
The American Red Cross has opened a daytime storm relief center for people without power Sunday.
The facility will be open Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. at the Northwest School of the Arts. It is open for Mecklenburg County residents that have been impacted by the power outage caused by Friday's storm.
As of Sunday at 12:15 p.m., more than 9,600 people were without power in Mecklenburg County. Duke Energy estimates that power will be restored to all customers impacted by Friday's severe weather by Monday at 11:45 p.m.

Northwest School of the Arts is located at 1415 Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte and is on CATS Route #7.
