Duke Energy: Most customers have power back

Duke Energy says it has restored power to most of the hundreds of thousands of customers affected by Friday’s powerful storm.

Late Sunday afternoon, the company’s outage map showed that about 5,000 customers were still without power in Charlotte. Duke estimated that power would be restored late Monday.

About 350,000 customers in the Carolinas lost electricity at some point during Friday night’s storm, which officials said packed winds of up to 70 mph.
