Fire damages house near Ballantyne Commons Parkway
A woman escaped without injury after a fire heavily damaged a house in Ballantyne late Saturday night, according to reports from the Charlotte Fire Department.
The house, at 9323 Whispering Wind Drive off Ballantyne Commons Parkway, was reported about 10 p.m. No injuries were reported, but the second floor was heavily damaged and partially collapsed. A woman who hasn’t been identified escaped from the house.
More than 40 firefighters were involved in fighting the fire, which took about an hour to control.
The cause of the fire isn’t known.
