A No Swim advisory was lifted on Monday for a Lake Norman cove in eastern Lincoln County where 20,000 gallons of sewage spilled from a lift station last week.
Lincoln County Health Director Margaret Dollar lifted the advisory at 10:30 a.m., after two successively clean water samples indicated fecal coliform counts are now below the maximum contaminant level.
Since Wednesday’s spill, Lincoln County Public Works has conducted daily water sample testing from three sites near the affected area. The cove is at the Lakewood subdivision in Denver, N.C. The lift station is in the 4400 block of Burton Lane.
