Monroe’s new city manager, Larry Faison, starts work

Monroe’s latest city manager, its fifth since late 2000, officially started work this week. Larry Faison was chosen by City Council in July. Faison previously worked as Whiteville’s city manager, and is a former U.S. military investigator. He will earn $145,000 a year, according to his contract. Robert Hites had been serving as interim manager, and replaced John D’Agostino, who was ousted by a divided council late last year after less than four months on the job. Adam Bell
