Cornelius commissioners name new board member
Cornelius Town Commissioners voted Monday night to appoint Bruce Trimbur to fill the commission seat left vacant when John Bradford was elected in November to represent District 98 in the state House of Representatives.
The 3-1 decision to appoint Trimbur came after several people asked commissioners to appoint Mike Miltich, who was the next-highest vote-getter in the November election for the seat. But Trimbur received support from several speakers as well.
Commissioner Dave Gilroy voted for Miltich.
Trimbur will serve the remainder of Bradford’s two-year commission term, which runs until December 2015. Lukas Johnson
