The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested a western Lincoln County man Tuesday, after finding a large amount of cocaine and cash while executing a search warrant.
Narcotics detectives were searching a home on the 1100 block of John Beam Road in Vale when they found more than 2 ounces of cocaine, $12,000 in cash, an AK-47 rifle with a 30 round clip, steroids, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of marijuana, officials said. Detectives say the cocaine seized had a street value up to $10,000.
Charges against Chad Dylan Smith, 22, of John Beam Road in Vale included trafficking cocaine by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, officials said. He received a $100,000 secured bond.
Megan Nicole Long, 19, of Pedal Court, Lincolnton, N.C. was charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $500 secured bond.

Detectives say Smith was living at the home and sold agents various amounts of cocaine during multiple purchases.
“This individual was not your typical street level dealer. He was selling larger quantities of the drug than we normally see,” says Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Lt. Jon Propst.
