Rowan County child, age 4, found in pool, airlifted to hospital
A 4-year-old child was pulled from a backyard pool in Rowan County and airlifted to a hospital Tuesday evening, according to the Observer’s news partner, WBTV. The child’s condition has not been released.
Fire and EMS were called around 6:40 p.m. to a home in the 8000 block of Sherrills Ford Road, about 8-10 miles west of Salisbury, WBTV reported. Rowan County deputies, who were in the area at the time, began CPR on the child.
Additional crews responded and attempted to treat the 4-year-old before the child was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. A helicopter was waiting there and took the child to a trauma center.
