Deer hunting seminars to be offered

Deer-hunting seminars will be offered statewide in September by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and the nonprofit Quality Deer Management Association.

The first of the seminars will be held Sept. 6 at Bass Pro Shops in Concord. All will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The sessions are geared to new and current hunters and will cover topics including deer biology, hunting methods and equipment, processing and recipes.

Other seminar dates: Sept. 12, Mountain Horticulture Crops Research and Extension Center in Buncombe County; Sept. 13, N.C. State University Engineering Building II, Classroom 1025 in Raleigh; Sept. 19, Forsyth County Extension Center in Winston-Salem; Sept. 20. Cumberland County Extension Center in Fayetteville; Sept. 21, N.C. Bowhunters Club House in Guilford County; Sept. 29, Brunswick County Extension Center in Bolivia.
