Mooresville and Statesville select economic development veteran to lead job-recruiting efforts
A 15-year economic development veteran will lead Mooresville and Statesville’s new joint effort to recruit industries to Iredell County.
Russ Rogerson is a former Charlotte Regional Partnership official who led Mooresville’s industrial recruitment efforts from 2008 to 2011.
During Rogerson’s tenure as executive director of the Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corp., Site Selection magazine twice ranked Mooresville and Statesville as the No. 1 micropolitan statistical area in the nation for business growth. Micropolitan areas have 10,000 to 50,000 residents.[
Rogerson later joined the Charlotte Regional Partnership as a senior vice president of business development services. He most recently led the Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corp. He begins his new post on Oct. 1.
