5 nabbed in Lincoln County drug stings
Lincoln County sheriff’s investigators arrested five suspects after seizing methamphetamine, pills and a gun in two operations this week.
All five had methamphetamine on them when they were arrested, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.
Those arrested were:
▪ Angela Lingerfelt Juarez, 43, of Lincolnton, who is accused of selling methamphetamine to undercover detectives. She was charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. She was jailed on $50,000 bail.
▪ Jimmie Leonard Ward Jr. of Cherryville on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear in court. He was jailed on $16,000 bail.
▪ Jimmy David Beard, 47, of Lincolnton, charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine. He was jailed on a $40,000 bail.
▪ Leslie Katherine Shuford, 31, of Lincolnton. She was charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed on $5,000 bail.
▪ Logan Daniel Heafner, 26, of Crouse, on charges of felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed on $5,000 bail.
“In all, we seized nearly 5 ounces of methamphetamine and a handgun in a matter of a few hours,” sheriff’s narcotics Lt. Jon Propst.said. “I am so proud of the way our detectives proactively seek out these drug offenders and adapt to the ever-changing directions these investigations take us.”
