Authorities arrest Mooresville man in shooting

Hickory police and State Bureau of Investigation agents on Thursday arrested Tevin Jerome Davis of Mooresville, charging him with Monday’s shooting of a man in a Mooresville parking lot.

Davis, 22, was taken to the Catawba County Jail, where he is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He is being held under a $14,000 secured bond.

Police found the shooting victim, Theodore Maurice Ford, 27, of Mooresville, shortly before 5 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of a Food Lion at 529 E. Plaza Dr. in Mooresville. Police later determined the shooting happened in the nearby parking lot of another business.

Ford was taken to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and then to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he received further treatment and was released.
