Young boy among 3 shot in Gastonia

A young boy was among three shooting victims at a Gastonia apartment complex on Saturday.

Neighbors said a maintenance worker also was among the victims at Quail Woods Apartments.

Police said the shooter left the complex in a black Dodge Charger, crashed and was arrested. The shooting happened shortly before 2:30 p.m.

The boy and another victim were taken to the hospital, police said at the complex. Their conditions were unknown. The third victim was treated at the scene.

A neighbor said the shooter had a rifle.
