Davidson police Chief Jeanne Miller announced Wednesday she plans to retire.
Miller has led the 20-person force since November 2005, and is the department’s first female chief. She will retire by June 30.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Davidson beyond compare,” Miller said in a statement.
The town of Davidson has selected a recruiting consultant, U.S. Investigative Security Services of Huntersville, to help find Miller’s replacement. The town hopes to have a new chief in place in May.
