A man wanted by Rowan County sheriff’s investigators since 2007 was apprehended over the weekend in Louisiana.
Maurice Boyd Woodward was arrested on Saturday by authorities in Tickfaw, a village of about 600 people northwest of Lake Pontchartrain.
Rowan County sheriff’s Sgt. Carl Dangerfield was researching people on the office’s most wanted list when he determined that Woodward had an address in Tickfaw. Dangerfield contacted authorities there, and Woodward was arrested without incident.
The Rowan County District Attorney’s Office is coordinating Woodward’s extradition.
