CMPD, FBI seek man who robbed BB&T branch in south Charlotte
Authorities are asking the public’s help in identifying the man who robbed at gunpoint a BB&T bank in south Charlotte Thursday.
The robbery happened about noon at the branch at 5639 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
A man brandished a gun and demanded money from a clerk before running out of the bank. CMPD described the suspect as a black man in his late 30s or 40s, about 6 feet tall, heavily built, wearing a light-colored T-shirt, a baseball hat with the number 48 on it and khaki pants.
CMPD and the FBI are asking that the public call either the FBI at 704-672-6100 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 with any information about the suspect.
