Lincoln County road sign thefts increase dramatically
Road sign thefts in Lincoln County have dramatically increased this year, with 64 reported stolen, sheriff’s investigators said.
Each sign costs about $100 to replace, investigators said, and having no sign makes it difficult for police, firefighters and EMS to respond promptly to emergencies. The thefts cost the county about $20,000 a year.
The sign for Diesel Drive in northeastern Lincoln County has been replaced seven times in the last week.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Call 704-736-8909. Joe Marusak
