Man charged in Mooresville golf course break-in
Iredell County sheriff’s investigators have arrested and charged a Mooresville man in a March 9 break-in at Mallard Head Country Club off Brawley School Road.
Elliott Kyle Smith, 46, was charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering. He was jailed on $7,500 bail.
Sheriff Darren Campbell said a window was pried open and two cans of beer stolen.
Smith was previously convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor common-law forgery, breaking and entering a coin/currency machine and multiple counts of felony breaking and entering, the sheriff said.
Smith was on post-release supervision after being released from prison in December.
“This is just another example of the frustration we encounter,” Campbell said in a statement. “Law enforcement officers and in this case a business owner are both troubled by the repeat offenders who continue to target our communities.”
