‘Operation Zero Tolerance’ nets 16 Iredell County drug suspects
Iredell County sheriff’s investigators rounded up 16 drug suspects early Tuesday.
At least a dozen uniformed deputies and plain clothes detectives fanned out across the county to serve the felony drug warrants as part of “Operation Zero Tolerance.” Twenty-three other suspects are still wanted on numerous drug warrants.
The arrests and warrants followed several months of undercover surveillance and purchases of illegal narcotics and prescription medicines.
“Let me be absolutely clear, these people we went after today sell drugs,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a statement. “They hurt our community by diminishing the quality of life in the neighborhoods they live in.”
