Man accused of hitting on kids while working at Burke County restaurant
A man accused of hitting on kids when he worked at a Burke County restaurant was arrested during a recent sting operation.
The sheriff’s office began investigating 33-year-old Ricky Lee Lackey Jr. of Morganton after receiving anonymous complaints from several residents about his conduct at the restaurant, Sheriff Steve Whisenant said in a statement Tuesday. The sheriff’s office has yet to release the name of the restaurant.
During the undercover operation, Lackey is accused of having inappropriate conversations and approaching whom he believed to be a juvenile solely to establish a sexual relationship, according to the sheriff.
Lackey was charged with solicitation of a minor by electronic device and jailed on $25,000 bail.
