Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have increased patrols in sections of north and northwest Charlotte where an intruder fondled a woman as she slept in her home and is suspected of peeping into other homes at women.
Police said a woman who was fondled shortly before 5 a.m. Friday woke up and screamed, causing the man to run from her home in the 1900 block of Slater Ridge Drive, off Beatties Ford Road.
Less than two hours later, at 6:21 a.m., police responded to Grass Run Court, where a female victim said she saw a man looking through a window into her home.
Her description of the man matched that of the assailant on Slater Ridge Drive, police said. Grass Run Court is about 3 miles west of Slater Ridge Drive via Capps Hill Mine Road and Peachtree Road.
Police later learned a similar peeping Tom incident occurred Thursday in the 3800 block of Gold Nugget Court, off Capps Hill Mine Road. A female told police she saw a suspicious man in front of her house. She went outside and and found one of her outside chairs under a window.
In each case, the assailant was described as a thin, 25-to-30-year-old black man, 6 feet tall.
