Kings Mountain police search for convenience store robbers

Kings Mountain police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the two robbers of the Amiya Express convenience store at 212 W. King St. late Monday.

The assailants entered the store at 10:20 p.m. and demanded money at gunpoint, police said. The clerk opened the cash register, and the men took out money and left, headed north on Cansler Street toward Tracy Street.

The robbers are believed to be in their early to mid-20s.

One is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and of thin build, about 180 to 200 pounds.

The other robber is a light-skinned black male, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall and of medium build, 225 to 240 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 704-734-0444.
