Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were searching Thursday for a man wanted in the overnight shooting of his adult son on Scarlet Circle in southwest Charlotte.

Scarlet Circle is off Sandy Porter Road between South Tryon Street and Arrowood Road.

Neighbors told WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, that a father shot his during an ongoing domestic dispute. The son was shot twice in the hip and is in stable condition at the hospital, WBTV reported.

Police released no further details about the shooting as of noon.
