Police: Shooting leaves one man dead in north Charlotte

A 28-year-old man died of an apparent gunshot wound and two others were hospitalized following an argument inside a north Charlotte home, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Police were called to the 3700 block of Pauline Lane on Friday night around 9:25 p.m. When they arrived, police found Samil Bates in the driveway, suffering from a gunshot wound. Bates was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said two other people were injured during the incident. Both were taken to CMC, one with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, and the second with a leg injury.

All involved in the incident knew each other, according to police. An investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS.
