Bessemer City High’s athletic director has been arrested and charged with indecent liberties with a student, Gaston County Police said Tuesday.
Brandon Samuel Scott, 34, was arrested Monday.
Police allege the incident occurred between October and December on school property while school was in session.
On March 13, the Gaston County school district asked police to investigate Scott after they received information about possible inappropriate conduct, police said.

The student is a juvenile and authorities did not release any other information about that person.
Scott was in the Gaston County Jail on a $100,000 bail, the jail log said. WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, reported Scott was suspended with pay in mid-March from his job. The news station reported he had been hired in 2011 as a physical education teacher and varsity baseball coach before being named athletic director in 2012.
