CMPD: Man on I-77 N. ramp shot at vehicle
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said an officer on patrol Wednesday saw a man on a ramp to Interstate 77 North shoot at a nearby vehicle.
The incident happened at 3:40 p.m. on the LaSalle Street entrance ramp to the interstate.
The officer arrested the suspect and seized the handgun without incident, although police said they could not find the vehicle that was the target of the shooting.
Mehmet Ilik, 42, was charged with going armed to the terror of the public and shooting within city limits.
