I-77 toll lanes worker accused of pulling out gun while arguing with co-worker

A worker on the Interstate 77 toll lanes project is accused of pulling out a gun while arguing with a co-worker, media outlets reported on Tuesday.

William Lee Power, 24, of Statesville was arrested on Monday after Mooresville police responded to the scene and found a gun in a bag in Power’s pickup truck, Observer news partner WBTV reported. Power didn’t have a concealed carry permit for the gun, according to the station.

The gun was never pointed at the victim, police told WBTV.

Power is now banned from the construction site, WSOC-TV reported.

I-77 Mobility Partners, a limited liability company of Spain-based Cintra, is building 26 miles of toll, or “express” lanes from Charlotte to Mooresville.
