A 4-year-old Virginia girl was found unharmed and is in protective custody after police said her father snatched her from her grandmother’s home and drove her to his home in Charlotte.
Phillip Ketter called 911 Wednesday evening to report that he had his daughter in his home in the 900 block of Highland Mist Lane and wanted to cooperate with police, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police spokesman Keith Trietley said.
Virginia authorities had issued an Amber Alert for the missing girl, Kaleya Ketter, Trietley said.
Officers found Kaleya at her father’s home near Briarwood Elementary School, off The Plaza in northeast Charlotte, and placed her in protective custody.
