Kannapolis police have charged a 22-year-old Charlotte woman in the shooting of a man in his car Monday night and are searching for her and another assailant whose identity is not known.
Cierra Nicole Roseboro was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She and the other suspect remain at large, police Lt. Terry Spry said.
The victim, Samuel Smith of Charlotte, was shot multiple times while sitting in a car in the 400 block of Cabarrus Arms Drive, police said. Smith was initially taken to CMC Northeast Medical Center and then to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he was still being treated Wednesday.
Smith was shot about 10:40 p.m. by the driver of a black Ford Crown Victoria who got out of the car to shoot Smith, Spry said. The driver returned to his car and left with Roseboro, Spry said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Kannapolis police at 704-920-4000.
