NC man charged with killing pregnant girlfriend

A 25-year-old man has been charged in the shooting death of his girlfriend, Kimberly Dianne Richardson, 25, who was six months pregnant, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

Richardson died on Sunday as a result of her injuries. Her child, a female, survived and was hospitalized at WakeMed.

Raleigh police found Richardson injured by a gunshot near Triangle Town Center mall on Saturday night. The officers were responding to a shooting reported in the 3600 block of Sumner Boulevard at 9:40 p.m.

The victim’s boyfriend, Daniel Joseph Steele, was taken into custody without incident at his home on Snowcrest Drive later that night. He has been charged with Richardson’s murder.
