Police ‘out in force’ looking for litter bugs
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they are “out in force” Wednesday conducting their annual Earth Day anti-litter campaign.
Police are watching for all types of litter violations, even including the tossing of a cigarette or sandwich wrapper.
Drivers will be cited for failing to secure loads on pickups and for debris falling off the bed of a truck, police said.
Police are partnering in the effort with Keep Charlotte Beautiful, Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Solid Waste Management.
