10-year-old shot, seriously injured Sunday afternoon in north Charlotte
A 10-year-old boy was shot in the stomach inside a north Charlotte home Sunday afternoon, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Police responded to 2400 block of Cairns Mill Court, which is near the intersection of Statesville Road and Cindy Lane, at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
The boy was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.
Officers believe the shooting was accidental, and they’re not looking for suspects, police said, but the investigation is ongoing.
