Lincoln County authorities investigate middle school incident
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night it is investigating the contents of a note found at West Lincoln Middle.
Students found the note in a bathroom Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said, and school staff interpreted it as a possible “hit list.” But the school and the sheriff’s office do not believe any imminent threat or danger to students exists, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office will have an increased presence at the school Wednesday.
Anyone with information about the note is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 704-732-9050, Lincoln County Communication Center at 704-735-8202 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
