Sheriff’s deputy accused of robbing NC bank
A Davidson County sheriff’s deputy was fired after being accused of robbing a Rowan County bank on Tuesday, media outlets reported.
Jeff Athey was apprehended within minutes of a 911 call about the robbery at F & M bank on West Main Street in Rockwell, Observer news partner WBTV reported.
No one was hurt in the robbery, which happened at about 4 p.m., media outlets reported.
Athey never gave any indication of such behavior, Davidson County Sheriff David Grice told WSOC-TV.
