Former Monroe physician assistant charged with incest, statutory rape
Randall Eugene Lewis, 52, a former Monroe physician assistant, was arrested Monday on charges of incest and statutory rape with a minor. He is in the Mecklenburg County jail on $100,000 bail.
In March, the N.C. Medical Board revoked Lewis’ license, accusing him of “unprofessional conduct.” After learning about the sex crime allegations, the board had suspended his license in November 2014, but Lewis failed to appear for a scheduled Feb. 19 public hearing.
Lewis “sexually molested the minor victim on multiple occasions” between 2011 and 2014, board documents said. Warrants were issued for his arrest in May 2014 but went unserved when Lewis could not be found, the board said. In March, board records said “law enforcement officials in multiple states have not been able to locate Lewis and he remains at large.”
Lewis’ address is listed as Parkersburg, W. Va., on records at the Mecklenburg Sheriff’s Office. An office spokeswoman was unable to find out where Lewis was arrested or which law enforcement agency arrested him.
He was licensed to practice in North Carolina in 2012, and board records show he previously practiced at Anson Regional Medical Services in Monroe. Board documents say he graduated from the physician assistant program at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill.
