2 shot in north Charlotte

Two people were shot outside a home in north Charlotte Thursday morning and have non-life-threatening injuries, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer at the scene said.

The victims were shot in the 1300 block of Condon Street, off Oaklawn Avenue and Beatties Ford Road. Medic took the victims to Carolinas Medical Center.

The shootings happened about 5 a.m.

At 7 a.m., police were seen interviewing witnesses and searching a car in the driveway of the home where the shootings are believed to have happened. Two neighbors were taken in separate patrol cars to CMPD headquarters for questioning.

The front of the home where the victims were standing was peppered with birdshot.

Police have not released the names of the victims or what they believe happened.
