NC man charged with killing his infant daughter

A Durham man has been charged with murder following the death of his 2-month-old daughter earlier this month.

Alex Lee Noel was arrested May 7 and initially charged with felony child abuse. Noel, 22, was indicted on a murder charge Monday, said police spokeswoman Kammie Michael.

Noel’s daughter, Karina Noel, was taken to a hospital on May 7, and staff called police because of the nature of her injuries, Michael said.

Karina died the following day.

Noel has been in the Durham County jail since his arrest.
