A man was shot and killed at a Charlotte hotel just off North Tryon Street on Saturday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Officers found Churchill Randolph Zoker, 32, with gunshot wounds around 6 p.m. Saturday.

He was taken from the Extended Stay America on East McCullough Drive to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Zoker's death comes almost a month after another homicide at a Charlotte hotel or motel. Jameriane Laverne Ardrey was pronounced dead in a southwest Charlotte motel on June 2. Her boyfriend was charged with murder.

The investigation into Zoker's death is ongoing. Anyone with information should call 704-432-TIPS to speak with a homicide detective or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
