A small plane landed on an east Charlotte road Sunday, but no one was hurt, officials said.

Two people were flying the fixed-wing single-engine Cessna when it missed the runway at Wilgrove Airport, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

The plane landed on Parkton Road, according to Medic. Wilgrove Airport is on the edge of Charlotte near Mint Hill.

The incident is causing delays in the area, according to the fire department.

According to the flight-tracking site FlightAware, the plane is registered at an address in Columbia, SC.
